Xbox gift card fraud

purchased two Xbox gift cards one in July for $25 from a Dollar General store, and one most recently for $50, from a local super market. These cards were purchased for my Grandson the latter one for $50 was for his birthday. Last night when he entered
in the numbers it stated the card was already used. His disappointment again was nearly heartbreaking. I contacted the stores and they said they could not assist me, I tried all the methods reaching out to Xbox to no avail. Could someone please help

Fraud? By all means.. If i got the gift card code, Why would it be fraud? It's my gift and i reedemed it wrongly and now i can't use it therefore i made these questions, but thanks for your productive reply

 

How can you determine where gifted points went

This has happened to me too. they have not been gifted to a family member either. report this as fraud to your card company I have. looks like xbox has been hacked.

If he logs into his account at account.microsoft.com does it show that the $50 was applied to his account? Sometimes it gets submitted twice and the second time it comes back as "already redeemed" because it already got applied to the account.

 

I recommend only buying card from major retailers. They have to activate the card before use.

Sorry to hear about the situation. I myself have had this happen to me before, but I had redeemed it to the wrong account by mistake. So as posted above please check your account "Order
History" for ALL of your accounts on the console.

If you are still having trouble I recommend you contact a live agent for more assistance.

what do you mean by "major retailers"

 

Contact your retailer for a refund or a replacement. In the future I suggest you to make purchases only from xbox marketplace

 

Thats why I never buy those cards and next time make sure the cards are left thw store activated... contact support with the receipt for futyher assistance!!

 

Did you make sure that the code cards you bought had the protective layer over the code intact?

Did your Grandson have to pull back a perforated strip or rub away a silver layer to reveal the code?

If so, then the code couldn't have been used. It might be that your Grandson accidentally clicked twice, or accidentally redeemed the code on the wrong account.

As the others suggested, have your Grandson go to
https://commerce.microsoft.com and check for the code redemption.

Or try to contact the official support by going to
Contact Us | Xbox Support

There click on the billing icon with the credit card.

If a virtual agent pops up,, click on "No thanks".

Then from the list of topics, choose the most appropriate topic, or choose "other".

Several tiles should then appear at the bottom, where you can then chat with support through a text based online chat, or request a callback.

Make sure you have the code cards with you, so you can provide them the code numbers.
