Xbox Gift Card Balance Missing

Hello.

I am posting because I received a free Xbox $50 Gift Card last November as I was setting up my laptop and I've been seeing it ever since in my Xbox Store Balance. I've bought several apps on the Microsoft Store already. I've been saving my balance of $44.27
for the Black Ops 3 Season Pass, and today when I went on my Xbox One to buy it, I did not see my gift card as an option. I wondered if this was because the Season Pass was $49.99 so I tried to do it with just the first DLC but I had the same problem. After
seeing this issue, I looked through both my personal email and my Microsoft email to see mail regarding this gift card but I could not find anything. I spoke through a chat session with an Agent to address this and he told me about an expiration date that
I was never aware of. I just want to see if there is any way I could retrieve this balance to make my final purchase with it. I appreciate the help.

Xbox Gift Card Balance Not in List of Payment Methods for Xbox 360 Store, but Works Fine with Xbox One Store

Hello,

I am unable to purchase games on the Xbox 360 store using my gift card balance. The gift card balance does not show as an available payment method during checkout. My credit card is the only available method.

However, the gift card balance is available and works fine when purchasing games from the Xbox One store.

Does anyone know why this might be? I couldn't find anything in the forums about this.

https://billing.microsoft.com If there is a balance it should tell you there. Gift cards are kind of hit and miss. It depends on if the card allows you to use it for online subscriptions and if you can add a billing address to the gift card as well.

Gift cards cannot be used to purchase gift cards. The Microsoft account balance is essentially the same as a gift card since funds typically come from Xbox gift cards.

Microsoft gift cards and Xbox gift cards are essentially the same thing. They both add funds to your Microsoft account balance. So if the game allows you to use your Microsoft account balance on the purchase, then either gift card will work.

If you redeemed your rewards points for a Microsoft gift card or Xbox gift card, the balance should automatically be added to the account balance for the account that redeemed the points. They don't send you a code typically.
