Xbox gift card balance and was use and I have in hand

Did you buy them from a retailer?

Did you buy them from the MS store online?

Did you just scratch off the silver bar on the back of an actual card or where they printed on a receipt?

If you talk to Xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us they can look the card number up and it will show if the card has been used but for privacy purposes unless they can verify that you own the account they would not be able to even get any
information off of the account like the email, phone number, gamertag or anything like that. The way that they verify ownership is once they have the particular account up (does not show them any information) they hit a button on the screen and it sends a
6 digit code to whatever email or phone number on the account is and if the person that they are talking to receives the code they type it in on their screen and it will then show them full access of the information on the account.

If you bought it from a retailer you would need to take the card back to the retailer and let them know that when you tried putting the code in it said that it had already been redeemed.

Where did you buy the gift card?

Did you buy it from a key reseller like G4A, CDKeys or the likes?

Be aware that on such key selling platforms, a lot of dubious sellers try to scam victims by selling a key multiple times.

When the victim complains, the store asks you to ask Microsoft support to prove when the code was used, and by whom.

However, due to privacy reasons, Microsoft can't tell you if a code was used by a different account.

The sellers know this, and therefore ask you to do something impossible, so they can argue "you" didn't provide the necessary information for the refund/replacement process.

So in short: Never ever buy stuff from key reselling platforms like G4A and the likes.

If you bought the code in a "real" store, like Amazon or Walmart and the likes, you need to go to the store and have them handle the issue.
