    Xbox Ghost Controllers Issue (extremely annoying, unacceptable bug)


    I am in love with my Series S but the overall system/UI experience that I am having with console keeps me thinking of how on earth a software giant like Microsoft has a console full of bugs.

    There are several quality of life issues that bothers me (unresponsive controller after boot up the console from standby and continue playing a game in quick resume state, UI lags, missing tiles after system reset, freezing in boot up screen, when charging 2 xbox controllers at once no way to see the charging progress for both, etc)

    But there is one massive, extremely annoying and unacceptable bug that makes me throw the console away.

    Last weekend my cousins came over for a 2vs2 FIFA night and OH boy I went crazy until figured out how to assign controllers.

    When I turn on my xbox controller, the device sometimes assigns this controller as player two, sometimes three and sometimes four. So, because of this Ghost Controllers Issue it is almost impossible to play with 4 players on same console, until I figured out how to fix it (which is temporary and so annoying)

    First I have close the game that I am going to play with 4 people and then turn off the console.

    After turning off the console, I need to boot it up with turn on button instead of xbox controller, then need to turn on the first controller with the USB c cable then open the game, assign the first controller

    After that any controller that is turned on is assigned sequentially. (If you close the game or system goes standby you have to repeat all the steps from scratch)

    And Ghost Controllers Issue is not just happened in FIFA

    OMG! Even the existence of this bug is unacceptable in itself, but it is irrational that it is not fixed.

    I've been having the same issues and my settings are correct and should allow it. I don't know if this is a game bug or what but it's extremely annoying....

    Controller connected but won't work?!?!?!?

    Same for me. My controller disconnects then turns back on, lights up but NONE of the buttons work and the only way to get it to work again is to power cycle my xbox. This is EXTREMELY ANNOYING. It happens 7-8 times a day. Do you realize how annoying it is
    to power cycle that many times a day while in the middle of a game almost every time. Please acknowledge this freaking bug Microsoft.

    I agree I spent about 20 hours troubleshooting my machine since NYE! At my states Minimum Wage it cost me more than $180. This doesn't factor in the AGGRAVATION it caused me. Not a peep from MS saying sorry, Not a peep on how to fix it, not a peep with
    any communication! I wanted a PS4 but the $100 trade in on my first Gen xbox 360 kept me on the MS path. Im still in the hole.

    it's virtually impossible to build out sufficient infrastructure to scale in response to large DDoS attacks. All web based infrastructures are vulnerable to DDoS and there are a few ways of dealing with small attacks. The group responsible for the holiday
    attack released a large attack that took down 2 of the largest web based services in the world with such a scale that it took a few hours each time for xbox to recover from and a few days for psn to deal with. I have both X1 and PS4 and I could not log into
    psn for 3 days where I could get back on xbl within an few hours (with a couple of intermittent issues granted). The scale of these attacks were so large, no infrastructure, civilian or governmental could have coped with it. It's like trying to fit a million
    cars on a single track road all at once with zero control on the traffic flow.

    I think xbox handled the situation quite well considering. Fair enough it was annoying that I couldn't get on games like destiny but I have plenty of single player campaign games to get on with.

    Unacceptable and extremely aggravating.

    I myself probly spend about 5000$ a year on Xbox between all the movies and games I buy and I have had a steady account for over 10 years. Even if they fix this it won't makeup for the countless hours I've spent trying to join games and chats with friends
    just to get kicked off or timed out with a *** unknown error message. This is unacceptable and everybody that is having this problem needs to speak up and get this *** taken care of!!!
