Xbox Gaming Overlay Capture Folder is Missing

Not sure if i expressed myself right but " The question here is not how to move your folder or restore if its in the recycle bin.. It is " i deleted (permanent delete) my Captures folder (boom!! gone!! it isn't in the bin) " and " It sets by
default C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Temp, and every time you wanna check the videos you must go there, also the app itself don't read videos in that directory its say something like "unable to gather your files" something like that. " so no it don't
create a new one when i record new videos.

But thanks anyway for trying to help. I really don't think there is a fix for this.

Check the recycle bin first to see if it's still on your system and then just restore it if you have it. If not just try and create a new clip or record a new video and the folder should be created again automatically in the default directory.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums.

If the folder was deleted, then all of the files in the folder were also deleted. I would check the recycling bin to see if you can restore what was deleted.

As far as making a new folder for captures, open up File Explorer and go into the drive you want to save the captures to. You can either right click, hover over New and then select Folder. There should also be a button at the top of File Explorer when you've

OK, so I think I understand your issue and there should be a fix for it. Let me know if you run into trouble following the steps, or they don't work and we can see what other options there are.

Go to Settings > Gaming > Game DVR. From there, see what it says for the folder. It should have it set to something even though the default was deleted. You should still be able to "Open folder" from that page. Then, in that folder, even if
it's empty, right click and select Properties. Under the Location tab there
should be an option to "Restore Default" click that and it should set it back to the proper folder.

From there, when you want to move the folder, cut it and paste it; there are inherit properties on that folder that set it as the default saving location, and not just the name itself, that carry over when moving it.
