    My Xbox games will load but as soon as I get to the "press any button" or "press a" screen it won't work. Let me give you an example. Rainbow Six Siege will load properly but then it presents a "press any button" screen. I will press a button then it will
    not load. Another example. Forza Horizon 2 will load properly it will show a "press A to start" screen. I will click A then it will stay on a never ending loading screen. Other games like Fifa 20, Madden 20, etc. will do the same. Final example. Watchdogs
    2 will load properly then it will present a "press A" screen. I press A and it makes a sound(the game acknowledges that I pressed A) but it will not do anything but make that sound. If I press it again it does nothing. Now some games work(Fortnite, For Honor,
    Roblox, etc.) but most games don't work(Rocket League, Watchdogs 2, Madden 20, etc.) Now this problem started yesterday evening out of nowhere. I didn't even know it was a problem till I tried to play Watchdogs 2. I did things like unplug the external hard
    drive and plug it back in, reset it by clicking the Xbox button as well as restarting through the settings route. I also switched controllers to see if that was the problem(did slightly better with Watchdogs 2 but the exact same with others). I plugged in
    and unplugged an ethernet cord with no change(as in tried to play with and without it). I went on Xbox Assist and it kept addressing the "Game won't start" problem which isn't my problem. I tried switching accounts and still nothing. I moved the position of
    the Xbox and nothing. I really hope my account isn't corrupted because if it is I will cry I've had it since I was 6 it means everything to me.

    Next time this happens, you can try accessing Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

    After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

    In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

    Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

    Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

    I can see going through the process of resetting one console that has a problem starting games, but I have an Xbox series X and S and a Xbox one X and all three consoles were having the exact same problem at the same time and I can't see it being a problem at the users side.

    I read that Microsoft had recently implimented a new authentication system and it was causing some problems with some of Microsofts services including the Xbox game authentication but as usual they would keep that part quiet like other companies would do.

    Strange, I had the exact same thing happen to me. I assumed that it was a result of playing games on Game Pass Mobile. Literally when my clock reached 1 am MST every game I tried and crashed before started working again.
