Xbox games wont load and profile picture blank.

My xbox hasn't had any problems for about a year with the exception of last night. After doing a hard restart, (friends recommended it to me to help join in ark game due to glitches) some of my games wont start up. I go to start the game and half of the
time it takes me back to the home screen, the other half gives me an error code saying that the game is taking to long to start. Not all of my games are affected but a select few, (Ark, Minecraft, Elite Dangerous). Also I noticed that my profile picture as
well as the color background for my home page is blank acting as if I have never set it up. When looking online at my profile I can see my picture but on my personal xbox, it is blank.

I have done some research and have already tried the hard restart/power cycle trick as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the game but to no solution. I wonder if there is a chance there could be some corrupt save files in those games for some reason
causing issues. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Gamer Picture and Profile Colour Issue

Whenever I try to change my gamer picture or my profile colour on my Xbox, all of the options are either grey rectangles (Profile colour) or blank circles (Gamer Picture). Does anyone know how to fix this?

 

Try logging out of your profile and logging back in. If that doesn't work you might also try removing your profile and re-downloading it. Post back and let us know. Good Luck!

 

Thanks for the reply, I tried what you mentioned above both did not work. After re-downloading my profile, the picture was still blank as well as it says that I 0 gamerscore points. However when I pull up my profile info, the picture is still missing but
the points are back to normal. Also the games still dont work as well.

 

For those who are having the same or similar problem, I was able to fix it, however not the way I would have liked. After spending a lot of time trying various methods, I eventually had to set my xbox back to "factory default". This means that I have to
restart my xbox as if I had never used it before, wiping all my games, saves, and profiles. I also had to re-download all my games as well as my profile after doing this. In the end, it fixed the problem but expect about a day of downloading to get things
back to normal. If anyone else finds a better way to fix this please let us know. Thanks, I hope this helps.

 

Thanks for posting your resolution. We like to try other methods before suggesting setting to factory defaults. However, that sometimes is the only option that will resolve an issue.
