Xbox games with gold

I'm very confused about games with gold if someone could help me please I did own a 360 about 2 years ago and I restarted my membership today to download assassins creed 4 on my xbox one and later in the month I plan to download gears 3 from the xbox website
which I have been told many times by people you can do this to get the game into your download queue on your account so later in the year I could play gears 3 hopefully on my xbox one with bc fingers crossed. But looking on the website today to test it with
plants vs zombies the xbox 360 section is missing only xbox one games are listed is this normal when i search for the game manually it says £9.99 which is odd because I have xbox live which covers both consoles, if someone could shed some light on this for
me that would be great. Steve

Just out of curiosity, are you in the Xbox One preview?

If not, you won't have backwards compatability until later in the year.

Thanks for the reply I'm planning ahead I know cannot play this title to later in the year but want to get the game onto my account for when I can play it.

Gears 3 does not enter the Games with Gold until July 16th. Plants v Zombies is there for download and is free (I've just added it to my queue for the same reason!)

Plants vs zombies is now listed on the games with gold page. Gears 3 will be in the second half of July.

There are games that are only available to download on the Xbox One platform and some only for the 360 platform. They are not cross platform.

Hey there. Sorry you misunderstood the offer, but the terms of the offer are on display. On the Games with Gold page (www.xbox.com/.../games-with-gold) at the bottom, it reads
as this:

"Games with Gold offer for paid Gold members only; active Gold membership required to play downloaded Xbox One games."

Xbox 360 games downloaded through Games with Gold are yours to keep. Should you re-subscribe to Xbox Live, your Games with Gold on the Xbox One will become available to play again.
