Xbox Games Pass will only download to my ssd and not my hdd

Followed all the steps, but i did not get a UAC prompt when downloading the app. the app still does not work.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly none of that worked and i still am unable to download games to my hard drive. any other ideas?

Edit: ive just checked again and now some games can download to my hard drive where most cant. Games like forza and even old battlefields wont recognise my hard drive but smaller games like bridge constructor do. is there any known reason for this? it seems to be random as far as i can tell. even some bigger games let me download to my hard drive.

Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

In the same window, type the following commands and press Enter:

Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse

Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse

(It's okay if either of these commands indicates that they keys don't exist)

Restart your device.

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page, and then select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

Try to install the game again.

Check if your hard drive is formatted in NTFS and follow the steps below.

1. Open Windows Update and look for updates, update everything, including optional updates. Restart to apply updates and try again.

2. Press Windows Key + i and go to apps, search for ''gaming services'' click ''advanced options'' and then ''terminate, repair and reset. Try installing the game again.

3. Launch PowerShell as an administrator and enter

“get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers”

Restart your PC, open PowerShell as admin again, and enter

“start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN”

The Microsoft Store will open and ask to install Gaming Services, install. Then try installing any game again.

Recommendation = new internet provider.

My recommendation would be to not build a gaming machine that uses a 5400rpm hard drive.

I expect Microsoft is going to be using a 5400rpm or 7200rpm HDD for Xbox Scorpio. An SSD is A LOT faster! An SSD takes only 10 seconds to boot a computer. An HDD? A whopping 2 minutes. An SSD also halves (or better) the loading and saving times of an HDD
too.
