Xbox Games Disappearing from Ready To Install List

I've been seeing the same thread everywhere dating back to 2016-17 but with no legit solution.

The subject of thread pretty much explains the issue. Xbox games are disappearing from the ready to install list.

Was just playing Fallout 76 last night, all was well. Pull up the game today: and it force closes after some time with a notice saying: "Game took too long to start". So I followed the steps accordingly to try and fix the issue. Hard reset, cleared cache,
etc. etc. Still same error. This had happened to me before: so I figured to uninstall and reinstall the game: since that has worked in the past.

    This is where the real issue happens;

As soon as I uninstall, the game is no longer showing up in my "Ready to install" list. When I search for it in the store: it tells me I have to purchase the game: when I obviously already have it.

The only suggestions I've currently come across is to hard reset the console by holding the power button/unplugging: or unhiding your games from the list. Neither has worked.

Everytime i pull up my Ready to Install list, I clearly see the number of games reduce in front of my eyes. First starting at 200, then it'll drop to 197, then 191: within a matter of seconds. I honestly can't pin point what other games are missing, just Fallout
76 since it was what I recently played and had installed. So I literally have no way of knowing what games in my list are just magically disappearing or even how long it's been going on.

The most aggravating thing about this is that the Microsoft Store is literally telling me I need to purchase the game, so I'm assuming that *somehow* the title of the game was ripped from my account: so it no longer registers that I own the game.

Repeating the steps I already took: hard reset, unhide games, etc. No change, it's as if I never purchased the game in the first place.

    Help. :C

    :)

    ready to install games disappearing!

You could also try a power cycle of the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that helps anything.

Hi, Does the game show in your purchase history ? It sounds like it may be owned by another account

    My suggestions would be to:

Check if you are using the same account that made the purchase,

Check if you have hidden the titles from the Ready to install list

    Check if you were gamesharing

Hi, Game sharing is against the Code of Conduct, I would be careful with that.

That's not accurate info, You can use the same console to play games with your account, But you can't sign in as someone else on your console and use their games, Even if they are family

This is exactly what Home Xbox is for, to share all the games you own with your household. Not with strangers or friends but within your household.

Yes to share games with your house hold on the same console. When you start adding extra consoles, You have to be careful with things since it's against the COC to sign in under someone else's name (even if they are family) They have strict rules, limit
numbered of uses a year and people lose accounts to fraud all the time, even to family members. Which was my point at the beginning. Telling a family member to make "your" xbox "their" home xbox so you can play their games is risky and not allowed. You can't
share account info with anyone else and a lot of problems can come from this. Which is why they don't allow it

No account sharing is required here.

Using your description, within my house (all my family) there are two Xbox's. If I choose to walk through to the other room, log in as me and set it as Home Xbox then there is no issue with that as I have done this and not given info to anyone. I can then
remove my account from that console so no-one will ever log in as me, yet can access my game library and share Gold access.

This is what Home Xbox is intended for. Certainly (I agree with you totally) if you give your info out to anyone else to set the "Home Xbox" on a different device you haven't done yourself then you are breaking the CoC and risking your account.

Yes, and this is where the lines start getting in the "grey area" as they call it. You only get 5 home xbox uses a year. They are meant for your home xbox. Not your brothers/sisters or extended family. When you designate a console as your home xbox. You're
saying it's YOUR home xbox and that you will be using it as your main Xbox. If you sign into your brothers Xbox and make it your Home ( just an example) And your brother makes purchases, uses your account and gets a ban, collects account info while you're
signed in and not looking, Then uses that info later to do anything unauthorized guess what? There is no recourse, You are 100% responsible for all of that. People lose accounts all the time, even to family members, People get bans all the time, because of
family members. A lot can happen, which is why they don't allow it. Even with family. There is a "grey area" and some people find ways to work around things, But it's risky and not encouraged

    There are always grey areas.

However, "your brother" should never be logging in as you, your account doesn't need to be on that console. They should be using their own account.

As quoted from Xbox "The console designated as your home Xbox is where you can share games and some content with others who sign in (with their own account) to that console". You are most certainly NOT
sharing your account and never should.

Of course there are users who will try and bend the rules beyond where they should be, and they should indeed be punished for it.

I would reach out to customer support and explain to them that you bought the game but it's not available in your library.

Yes, That's what I've said all a long - As quoted from Xbox "The console designated as your home Xbox is where you can share games and some content with others who sign in (with their own account) to that
console". You are most certainly NOT sharing your account and never should.

That basically means you can share games with other people on your home xbox, Which can only be on ONE console at a time. Which is limited to 5 uses per year, because people abused this and game shared which created a lot of issues. Your home Xbox
aka YOUR Xbox can have other users sign in and play their games on their own accounts, families do this all the time. The issue is having more than one console. This is where it get's tricky, Signing in on another family members console and saying it's your
home xbox so that they can use your stuff is basically game sharing (Which is not allowed) Xbox has no way of knowing who your family is or who you've decided is ok to share with. You could be sharing with a complete stranger for all they know. And as history
has proven. Not everyone signs out or realizes the xbox holds info on file making it easy for some to sign back in and use your account without your knowledge. The grey area is that technically you can do this. Like I said, but it's risky and has led to countless
problems in the past. Which is why they tell people it's not allowed or encouraged.

The COC is pretty clear about all of this https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-ca/home/codeofconduct
