xbox games app issue on WP 8.1

hello everyone,

since i applied the latest update for "games app" (2.0.1405.13001)on my lumia 920 device, i cannot connect to xbox live.

Xbox games collection appears as it should be, but social page asks me to join xbox or sign in.

If i choose to refresh i get the following message: "can't refresh. There is a problem with the xbox service or your connection. Try again later"

I can sign in to xbox live using internet explorer. I tried to hard reset my device and the application (version 2.0.1403.2) was OK until i applied the latest update which caused the same issue.

I'm using the Nokia Lumia 1020 with 8.1 update. I get the 805a8011 code whenever I try to access the WP marketplace and code 0x805a8011 when I try to sign in on the xbox app. I've already tried a soft reset.

 

Can you check your device's date+time settings and see if they need correcting?

Also try to toggle the automatic/manual setting and see if that helps at all.

 

Hi, thanks for responding to my question. I have already tried both automatic. And manual settings with no luck. My Microsoft account syncs fine, the Xbox games on my phone sign in successfully to Xbox live. It seems that only the latest version of games
app has issues. I have also tried to hard reset my device and games app worked fine until I updated to the latest version

 

Hi, maybe my question could be answered here. If i own a game on my xbox like pinball FX2, its linked to my gametag which is linked to my Microsoft account. If Im running Windows 8.1 and say that game is available in the appstore (PinballFX). Could i re-download
it from my microsoft account onto my pc/tablet?

 

@FunnyOne: You would have to buy the game again as they are separate versions, ie separate games.

With some games now, though, if you buy on WP8 you can also download for W8 but that's not all games and it doesn't apply to going between PC and Xbox (at least not at the moment).

I have noticed that after the update to 8.1 on windows phone you need to go into the account settings click on "sign in with windows" and accept the T&C's this should fix your problem, i was having the same issue, i am not sure why this is not done automatically
after the update.

thanks for your answer. It may sound stupid but what do you mean account settings? If you mean settings-->emails+accounts-->Microsoft account, there is no option "sign in with windows"

 

having the same issues and both xbox and microsoft help lines where useless at helping

 

ok make sure your time is correct to the minute even a minutes difference can cause problems mine is now fixed after doing that
