Xbox gamertag suddenly appears to be in Chinese

Already done that as soon as I saw the chinese characters. That wasn't the issue however because the gamertag is still set as it just was showing as Chinese characters somehow. That being said, the problem resolved itself for me. Unfortunately I can't help anyone else who has the same issue as it happened on its own after a computer restart. So beyond the classic "turn it off, turn it on again" I've got nothing.

I’m seeing reports for similar things like unauthorized attempts to login in your account from china , etc.

Please try changing your account password right now and if you didn’t have it enabled. Enable two steps verification.

It was an issue with the Xbox servers, so there wasn't a fix for it other than to wait for them to fix it, which they have.

I had this for a long time and today i was finaly able to resolve this.

These are the Steps that helped in my case, maybe they will help in your case to:

- Open the Settings App in Wndows 10

- Click on "Time & Language"

- Click on "Region & language"

- Check the installed languages

In my case 3 Languages were installed. German, Japanese and English (in this Order!)

-> i guess "Forza Hub" is not localized for German, so it took the next Language which was Japanese.

-> by changing the Order and putting English as the second Language, Forza Hub now uses English.
