Xbox Gamertag Release (Discuss Here!!)

I checked for you. The gamertag "Night fury" is in use. Therefore "Nightfury" will not be available.

 

Yeah well I have tried change mine, I paid for it couple days ago and it still hasn't changed, everyone that I talk to keeps putting it off another day, so if ya expect a tag quickly don't hold your breath, at this point I still haven't got it and have no
idea when I will, 3 diff answers from 3 diff people. They are really starting to let thier service go down tubes

Are there going to be more gamertag purges that extend beyond the original xbox era? I have been trying to get a particular gamertag ever since I got on Live 8 or 10 years ago. (It is currently lapsed because I didn't have regular access at the time, but
I will be buying another yearly sub soon.) The tag I REALLY want has been taken from start by the same person since then. They have zero activity and zero gamerscore on their profile all these years, but the gamertag is still taken. I am guessing they made
the account to play a trial period, but never used it after one night. I mean 10 years of inactivity is pretty crazy. Do we have a shot at gamertags like these in the relatively near future?

 

I'm fairly happy with my current Gamertag, I am interested to see what other people snagged once everything was released to the public!

 

I live in the UK and have been trying to change my gamertag - I get right up to the payment, but when entering my details it does not recognize that I am from the UK and asks for state/province - I cannot enter this as no UK option, so cannot change my gamer
tag - any suggestions?

 

Can someone please help me understand what a "reserved Gamertag is?" I want to change my Gamertag I'm willing to pay the money but the Gamertag I want is "reserved!" When I go to look up the Gamertag it doesn't exist... So is it available or not???

 

If a GT is reserved it's already in use. Remember that tag you want could be in use elsewhere but with spaces in it.

For example "gamertag" and "G a M e R t A g" would be the same GT.

 

I wish I could combine old gamerscores, with old gamertags. Also, windows should stop making us pay for games we have already payed foe through Xbox live. If we can cross play computer vs consoles. We can synchronize cellphone apps with Xbox one or live.
