Xbox Gamertag Release (Discuss Here!!)

Sorry but in my 10 years as I have developed 9 other gamer tag that are rightfully mine since 2005 & 06 I have made these gamer tags not because of Xbox but because my friends gave me these gamer tags and my cousin's all because of something
personal or because of a game that I love playing the most. Like for example in 1992 Mortal Kombat was the first game for me to come out and because I play a character name Liu Kang but it would not be till 5 years later that Mortal Kombat 4 I had always
played Liu Kang. But! there was something else that caught my eye on MK4 Liu Kang was teaching Kai the way of the Shaolin Monks fighting style at this point I knew what my gamer tag would be. So all I needed was 1 word and I wrote that 1 word down and reserved
this gamer tag as my own but still no online console until 2001. This is the same for the other's but my friends and cousin's would give me nick names and I have turn them around and made them my email, and passwords and all the email & passwords had a gamer
tag to it.

 

Requested my new Gamertag back on the 22nd, and no change. It's been more than 24 hours now.

Signed out and back in on my Xbox1 and on Windows 10. Not sure what is going on at this point. The charge went through on my credit card though....

 

At this point you would then need to contact
phone/chat support and request a refund.

 

slap to the face for those who dont pay for gold, i prefer playing mp on other platforms and sp for xbone

 

Can someone help me with a gamertag or tell me if im even able to get it?

Sorry if you have already answered this in this thread. What does it mean if that website says a gamertag is taken but when you try and find it as a friend, it say it doesn't not exist. Does that mean the tag was banned?

 

That usually means the user has spaces in the GT. For example, Crafty and C R A F T Y would be the exact same GT.

 

I got *** on getting a name because of my tenure not being recognized by xbox live. I had been waiting over 4 years for the name and even contacted microsoft several times on the release of gamertags as well as called the day before to make sure I could
change my name. The manager I spoke with was a complete jack hole and did nothing to fix the issue and even blamed me. So now I want to know what is xbox going to do to fix the issue? Since I meet the criteria, one year of cumulative xbox live and current
gold, I should have been able to change my name. Worst part, my billing history proves my tenure and the manager refused to fix it. So will he be fired? Will I get my name and the guy who got it will get ***? Or ultimately will I just be ***? All I know is
this is a crock of bull. I've had xbox live for several years, I've had the xbox, the 360 and the one, I've been a loyal customer and supported xbox as well as told my friends and family to get xbox over playstation, but if this issue isn't resolved, I am
going to playstation. I'm not sure if any laws have been broken, it sure feels like one has but, I am sure xbox has broken my trust. So hopefully a fix will happen soon because if it doesn't I'll be forced to switch to PS4. Sure it seems drastic to switch
consoles over a name but considering all that xbox promised and didn't deliver on it seems the only choice. Such an easy problem to fix, so thanks for caring!

 

Since the release, I have a specific gamertag I've been following closely. The gamertag was somehow skipped with the update, and i brought it up to the support team. They then followed up and released the gamertag, but since then the gamertag has been stuck
in a limbo state (It's unobtainable). I've followed up with the support team 5 times now over a period of a month and they referred to me here to state the claim and attempt to contact a Xbox Employee about the situation. Two representatives have sent in tickets
on the matter as it appears to be a bug in the system. Really would appreciate an employee to contact me!

 

Not all dormant original Xbox GTs were released to public. If the tag was never released you cannot use it.

 

That's strange. Is there a reason why some were not released?

 

This is a great idea, it's only a shame that some people have run into difficulties with a gamertag there were after. One of my close friends had the same issue, he had been watching a gamertag for years but was unable to get it upon release of the new tags.
Such a shame and I do understamd how those that have the same issue feel.

 

The gamertag I wanted "Nightfury" is still in limbo, support says there is no email attached to the account, has not been logged into for years upon years, and it has 0 gamerscore. So the name was a grab-and-let-rot tag, so it is annoying that it was left
out of the purge.

I would have loved to use it, and before anyone else says it, dibs on the name!
