there is a lot like that. I was told they could be part of the next promotion, other reps told me they are reserved. you get a different response every time. I wouldn't mind getting an explanation because obviously they are not being used so they should
be available right?

I was told by xbox to discuss it on here, And so i will continue to. I want that gamertag !

I called xbox support and they told me to come here to discuss it. They said that they clear inactive gamertags and i want to know if this gamertag can be cleared now because its an unused account.

 

I never changed my gamertag. My gamertag displays my complete name when I play online. I have been trying to change it, but microsoft want 10 bucks for it! Even though it states that you can change it atleast ones for free! This is a security issue for me.
Can someone help me change my gamertag not to display my full name without getting charged for it? Thanks!

 

Gamertag changes cost $10. The free GT change only applies to auto generated tags assigned to users on account creation.

 

I have found a gamertag I wish to change too, however it won't let me change it. I have a tenure of 6 years, but it is not all consecutive. I was busy with college, so a few months ago my live ran out, but I have since bought a 1 year subscription. I can't
figure out the issue. Please help!!!

 

what does it say when you try to change your GT?

 

It says "Gamertag is unavailable" but I tried adding the chosen Gamertag and the account did not exist :/

 

It's possible the GT you want does exist already with spaces in it. That would make it unavailable.

 

AoD Monster, you don't need a consecutive year of gold in order to get a OG tag.

 

I've got a couple questions that i would greatly appreciate if answered:

First, I would like to know for sure that if i were to change my gamertag that it becomes vacant and nobody can claim it for 30 days. There is truth to that right?

Also, if an OG tag went unclaimed would Xbox automatically change the name to a randomly generated one or was this the work of possibly people using turbo bots because i noticed a few had changed to randomly generated ones but i looked back the next day
and somebody had them. If Xbox actually changed some of the OG tags to randomly generated ones in theory we would have another chance to claim them 30 days from the release right?

 

Im pretty sure that the whole 30 days period isnt true as people change names more or less instantly at least from what I can gather. Sweet Gamertag though, I got my initials which im pretty pleased with.

Glad I was able to snag this GT

 

I went through the process to change my Gamertag, even paid for it, but nothing seems to have happened. Did I miss something when I went through the process? I have gold membership and 6 years tenure....
