Xbox gamertag expiration

Hello,

I had a question about gamertags expiring after 5 years and I have been waiting for years to get the name but the account is still up my current name is KNG iRosales, I was in a clan and I want to change my name to iRosales but somebody already has the account name. I’ve done some research on the account they have 240 gamer score and has played 3 games such as fifa 15 which was published 2015 fifa 14 and cod ghost. If there is any way I could get this gamertag please let me know.

Also be aware that the tag system is in use on other Microsoft services. There is no way to know for sure how active an account is.

Unfortunately, the only way to obtain the gamertag iRosales is to wait for Microsoft to do another gamertag recycle. It appears that the last gamertag recycle was done in 2016, so if you are determined to have that gamertag, you can attempt to change it at social.xbox.com. However, please be aware that since the gamertag is already taken, you will be given an automated suffix with numbers included in the gamertag.

It's random so everyone has an equal chance you will just have to work with the hashtag system or just keep kn trying. In the lottery system
