XBox gamertag and region

Hi,

i have the Probloem, that i can't change my region in xbox-live, so i cant't change my gamertag.

I tried to change the region in my user-profile, but i got only an error.

The next Problem is, that i have to pay money to change my gamertag. The site is telling that i changed my name before, but i don't think that i changed my name to forellearsch and i think its a system-changed-name.

Can you help me please, to get my official gamertag on xbonx-live for PC.

You shouldn't have to change your account region to change your gamertag. Is the site coming up as US and not your actual region? If so, you just need to change the region in the far bottom left corner of the site.

As far as the free change, that is only given if you were given a randomly generated tag when you created your account and are changing that tag for the first time. If you chose the tag you have, you have technically already changed the tag and are not eligible
for a free change.

It's not possible to change regions on an Xbox Live gamertag.

Just check with Xbox Support over on Twitter, such a wonderful service, and simply changing the WLID to one with a UK region setting wont change the region of the Gamertag...only way is to create a new profile altogether.

Sorry to hear it. The code XBOS1005 suggests a region issue. Not only should your gamertag match the region (country) you physically live in but codes for different regions can only be used for gamertags in that region. For instance, if your gamertag
is set for Canada but have a code for the US the US code will not work

Sorry to hear about your situation.

But, currently using a UK or a US GamerTag? In other words, which region is the GamerTag registered?

The region and the billing address need to match. A UK address for a UK region GamerTag or a US address for a American GamerTag.

If you are trying to cross match region versus address, sorry, then the system will be conflicted.

You will also run into the same problem if you try to use a different region DLC or MS points.
