Xbox gamers being added to a Fortnite game session

Hi - my son plays Fortnite. Tells me that if none of his friends are on, Microsoft will automatically assign other gamers to his game session , is that true? And he told me he set up audio controls such that he cannot speak to or listen to these other
unknown gamers, is that true? There was a player last night (who he says he doesn't know) whose gamertag had "666" in the name and it kinda freaked me out. Advice?

in summary, open the guide, go to People, and then select the gamertag, Recent players, or select Find someone and enter the player's gamertag to search. From the player's profile, select Report

Yes that is true. When playing Mulitplayer Online games, if you are not in a Xbox LIVE Party with your friends or in a Squad on Fortnite with your friends you will be assigned a random team of players. It is also true that your son is able to turn off communications
with other players as well as the choice to not be in a Xbox LIVE Party with them.

Regarding the Gamer Tag with "666" in it unless they were harassing your son in anyway you do not have anything to be worried about, chances are your son will never run into that player again. And although being matched with random players can sometimes result
in some toxic communication it can also lead to some great positive communication and friendship.

I dont think Game Pass has anything to do with the issue.

Both the games they are trying to play are free to play downloads that have been installed to run on the console.

Example 1 - Both want to play Fortnite. If Daughter A is playing and Daughter B turns on her xbox and logs in, it ends Daughter A's session.

Example 2 - Daughter A is playing Roblox and Daughter B loads Minecraft - it ends Daughter A's session on Roblox.

And so on.

Currently it appears that for some reason they cannot be playing ANY game at the same time and both have/are using separate gamer tags.
