    Does anyone know how to go about this problem?

    I wanted to change xbox gamertag and a friend told me there was a way to change it for free though a website. I went to the website and changed it to what i wanted and it worked. However, the name
    was already taken so i had these weird digits at the end of it. Since its not what i wanted i used my money to actually change it the right way. It worked but now i have to gamertags for one account. It now shows the old gamertag and the new one! Please help!

    Hi, another user suggested this on another thread, and via some checking myself I feel it is the best course of action for you. The crux of the matter is you cannot have two gamertags associated with one microsoft account/email.

    Here’s what I would do:

    1) go to
    support.xbox.com     and explain to them you gave two gamertags and after verifying your information, they may be able to help you with your account recovery, here is a link on how to do it

    you can get eveything recovered with a licence transfer and then redownloading so you wont have to purchase the dlcs again aslong as you recover the same gamerag that bought the dlcs
