    Xbox Gamer Tag Concern


    Hello, Today I was speaking to Xbox customer support about a gamer tag that I have wanted for some time now Known as "Steal" that belongs to another person.

    So I messaged support today explaining how I have not seen this gamer tag come online before, that they have a gamer score of 0 and no gamer picture or Xbox live avatar and asked if there is anyway I could get this gamer tag because it is such a nice
    gamer tag and it is going to waste because the owner does not use the account.

    So support recommend me to post about my concern on the forums so the enforcement team could do a investigation on the account not being used.

    So here I am, I really would like this prestigious gamer tag "Steal" so much and would do anything for it because I hate seeing a good gamer tag like that going to waste when someone like me could possibly be using it.

    It feels like when you make a Xbox live gamer tag that you have no real choice of it because most of the names you would like are just being taken.

    So yeah, is it possible if anyone can help me in this dilemma? It would much appreciated.

    Sorry, but if the system is in use on the servers then there is no way to get it. The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services as well, so even if it isn't in use on the a console it could be in use somewhere else.

    What "Smwutches" has said is correct, despite the Gamertag not being used on the Xbox Live Services - it could generally be linked to other Microsoft services such as a Windows 8 device, Hotmail, Tablets and Smartphones.

    I don't think the Enforcement and Policy Team usually perform such actions as this is somebody's Gamertag and if so, in rare circumstances.

    Gamertags are not released,not even in rare circumstances.

    The only time it's happened was when the servers for live on the original xbox were shut down but a lot of tags were snapped up & sold so wether it happens again when live for the 360 is closed down is anyones guess.

    Here is why you should care about the used disc policy.

    Another concern over this DRM games tied to gamer tag fiasco is, What if XBL or your gamer tag is hacked? You will not even be able to access your games.

    I just keep finding more and more negatives about this console. It just needs scrapped and reworked .

    Hello there oOI BUMBUM IOo When an Xbox live member chooses an Xbox gamer-tag, they have the full rights to keep that gamer-tag even know if they have been inactive for years along with no gamer-score & no gold membership,
    you will not be able to request for the gamer-tag to be forced changed. The owner of the gamer-tag must change it himself or when a forced gamer tag change is imposed due to the gamer-tag violated the code of conduct in any sort of way, if the gamer tag you
    enter is already taken, you are prompted to try another gamer tag Also try to remember that gamer-tags are also tied to services like Zune or games for windows live. If a gt doesn't exist on Xbox or has already been taken, it might be in use on one of those
    Additional services like gfwl.
