Xbox Gamepass PC games won't launch, reinstalling causes error code.

Also having trouble launching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Xbox GamePass for PC. I have also tried all the steps listed above. It seems that when i reinstall the game the normal popup that appears when a game is launched for the first time that has you link the game to your gamepass account is not popping up so after a few seconds the game just fails to load and closes with no error code.

i've got the same error code 0x87e00013 when an update is available for a gamepass game ...The only way to bypass that is to uninstall and reinstall the game , it's not very practical hope this can be fixe when the pc gamepass leave beta .

I have the same issue. I get error 0x80004005 and then "unspecified error code" only on No Man Sky's. I have it installed in the xbox app installed with gamepass for pc. I also have SOT installed the same way but that game plays fine and no error codes.

edit: I have tried the solutions about except the full reinstallation as it isnt all games just NMS.

I'm playing on PC through gamepass.

The game and the platform are up to date.

I am playing online

I don't have any mods or add-ons

I have reinstalled the game once but not cleared the cache

The only error code I've gotten is 0x800704cB when I first crashed and after that I get no more errors.

However when I try to relaunch the game again I get Error code: (0x87e00029) which won't go away until I restart my PC

I'll give the Gaming Services Repair Tool a try and see if anything different happens.

Forza cannot be opened anymore (the error popup window redirects to the ms-store which forza cannot be opened from either), and the xbox launcher won't launch. Microsoft Store looking for updates runs forever.

UPDATE:
I reinstalled Xbox GameServices and now the game starts again with the error code 0x12c as before
