Xbox Gamebar issues involving recording

For some time I've had issues recording anything with the game bar, most of the time the buttons to turn on recording, record the last few seconds and screenshot, are all just dark and cannot be used. Other times, they are illuminated but will still not function. I have tried quite a few different solutions but none of them have worked except for on registry edit that I'm not even sure was what helped me out for a moment.

I have tried the following:
- Restarting gamebar, console companion and the computer
- Uninstalling through powershell (successfully uninstalled, reinstalling did not fix it)
- Checking updates
- Enabling the game bar
- And others in too much detail to remember

I've also tried enabling background recording, as well as screen reading and microphone usage within gamebar, however, the app either just crashes when I try to check the box, or doesn't open settings at all. In relation to settings, the settings for gamebar in the computer settings do not show any enabling switch except for enabling the usage of the xbox button on a controller to open it.

To clarify further, no, I do not receive any screenshots at all when attempting to screenshot, not even a black screen. I also had issues trying to save with the snipping tool, not sure if that's related, displays a message that the file cannot be found, despite the fact it's right in front of my face and can be copy and pasted, then saved through a third party (upload to discord, then download is how I've done it).

I really hope I've given enough information here to clarify that this is an issue almost no one else is having or at the very least has asked for help with, thank you very much for your time.

According to your description, you have combined all Xbox Game Bar-related troubleshooting steps to ensure that they will resolve your problem. The Xbox Game Bar problem, however, is intermittent and the software itself either crashes or fails to take the screenshot you needed. Let us investigate and double-check this together so that we can resolve it as soon as possible.

We appreciate that you expressed your concern so that we could investigate the root cause of the problem, and we also value the list of troubleshooting steps you provided. We understand that this problem has been troubling you for a while, and previous troubleshooting attempts have resolved it, but today seems to be an exception. As a result, we would like to inform you that any issues with Xbox Game Bar is also related to Windows since both Xbox app and this app (Xbox Game Bar) come pre-installed. We'll now make some suggestions for troubleshooting that you can do or leave out (skip).

To better isolate your issue, we would like to ask for few questions:

Is your Xbox Gaming Services up-to-date?
Do you have antivirus, antimalware, VPN, firewall, proxy and PC Optimizer installed in your PC?
Would you mind providing the version of your Xbox app and Gaming Services?
- Please check the Xbox app version and the gaming services version through Xbox app > select Profile icon > Settings > About.
May we know your Windows version and edition? Please search on Windows search bar the word "WINVER," and select the app then take a screenshot of it's content (please see sample screenshot below).

Suggested troubleshooting and kindly skip those steps you have perform already.

Please update your Windows OS including the Optional Updates this will help you run apps that will require updated Windows OS.
To ensure you are getting the best performance out of your graphics card, you can download and install latest drivers (based on manufacturer) here:
- NVIDIA
- AMD
Please go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Select the Xbox Game Bar. Select the Advanced options link under the name of the Xbox Game Bar. On the page that opens, select Repair if it's available. If it isn't available, select Reset.
Run System File Checker and DISM Tool
- In Windows search bar, search for Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.
- Copy the command below one line at a time and paste it on Command Prompt:
  
  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  
  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
  
  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  
  SFC /scannow
Restart and disable all antivirus, antimalware, VPN, proxy, firewall and PC Optimizer. Please update us on how it went.

open gamebar, click the gear icon for settings, then personilsation, then reset. you can also select click through which means the widget that appears on screen does not affect the game.

gamebar only records the main screen,

Hello this did not fix my issue. Gamebar will work sometimes for example it will record my screen when I am in an internet browser. But it will not record my CAD program (2020 design). Is there a reason it would not record a program like that? TIA
