Xbox game share in Japan

Hey everyone, I don't frequent the forums much, but I have a question that I would appreciate some advice or facts on. Also I'm not sure if I have posted this topic in the correct forum section.

My girlfriend who is living in Japan wants to get an Xbox One. I know about the Xbox game share scheme, but I don't know the rules regarding it and have never done it before.

We are both interested in the game share scheme, but my question is, can I do the Xbox game share scheme with my girlfriend in Japan? Or since we aren't in the same house/country is it illegal to do?

I would appreciate knowing more about this before even considering doing game share.

Hi! It's not really 'illegal' but instead more of a grey-area regarding the terms of use. While I can't directly recommend it, it seems that although a massive amount of user makes use of this feature, Microsoft so far hasn't decided to take any actions
against anyone who does. So the risk of you getting caught or anything are really, really small.

 

This type of use of "sharing" would be against the rules since you are not in the same house. Info about account theft:

Please be aware, sharing account information and sharing accounts, abusing the my home xbox feature, could end up in account and device bans from xbox live. This feature is for use on one console within a family and giving your account to someone else, accessing
an account you don't own and transferring game licenses to your console with an account you don't own violate the code of conduct and terms of use. You can still play your games when you're
logged in to the account that bought them on any console regardless of where your my home xbox licenses are.

Please buy and use your games and have your girlfriend buy and use her own games. The digital games won't work if you are set to different regions on your console, and changing regions to get around region blocks is considered market fraud.
