Xbox game preview program (elite dangerous) question.

Exactly its not like there is really and end point with a universe this size, so more about trading,discovery and building a bigger ship to discover more. Play at your own pace. Im a bit dissapointed its not supporting voice commands though. Would be a perfect
fit

 

Bird125 statement is incorrect, not all games in development be it in Alpha or Beta are reset.

Developers reserve the right to do so if required but this is quite rare in MMO games. I am 99% sure ED will not get reset.

 

That did surprise me tbh, voice commands and head tracking (although I'm not sure if head tracking is already optional), it probably would be the first game in a while I'd use the kinect for.

 

You guys are right, voice commands in this game would be incredible. Especially if you activated a command by saying 'computer' first!

 

Considering a complaint from our PC guru Randver said the lack of buttons on a controller will be a problem for this game,voice commands like ive seen on PC seemed logical

 

Consider the way Xbox One controller was mapped for Neverwinter on Xbox One there will be no problems for this game either.

 

Just been messing around in training. I'd suggest to anyone getting this, get a note pad to write down reminders of where to find the various functions and controls, there a lot to remember at first and the game doesn't hold your hand like alot of games
do.

By holding down either A/B/X/Y, you will open different menus, from these menus you can enter other menus. The menus are sheathing from using the various forms of space travel(speeds etc), to ship functions etc, there is alot to get your head around.....
Which I personally like.

Just from the bit of training I've done, the game seems very complete and polished, it doesn't give you the feeling your playing a beta at all. I'll give more impressions later when I've had time to play it properly. Just take people's advice and watch the
training videos and do the training in game, it definitely isn't like any other game where you can jump in and have every control worked out in 10 minutes.

 

Arf,if only i could get a clone of myself,to play Witcher 3....So i could start playing Elite....

At this time we are still looking into the possibility of carrying over some of your characters progress (credits, ranking) from the XBox One game preview to the final release. This is something that our development team are still discussing.

Keep in mind however, that this release is a game preview and similar to a beta, it is not always possible to continue playing on final release without a save game wipe.

All achievements earned and gamerscore added are permanent and will not be removed.

Not a problem at all.

Holding down buttons brings up sub-menus.

Its quite easy actually.

Just another opportunity for the PC Elite to criticize anything that isn't PC.

 

Hopefully they sort it then, I don't mind to much having to restart if it comes to that, I'd just rather not if I didn't have to.

That wasn't the case at all. The game has enough depth that there are simply to many controls to map to a controller without it being a nightmare to navigate. Dozen or more threads regarding the issue where people have provided their setup and what they
mapped to a keyboard, G13, etc, so it's a known issue. I had my landing gear and several other things hotkeyed to a G13 because my controller is out of buttons.

The One beta version is not the current PC build so I'm not sure what may or may not have been removed and how different the One version is from what I played. One of two things has happened.....the One lacks the control options the PC has or the One has
some type of radial dial selection system for commands that can't be keymapped to a controller on the PC.
