Xbox game preview program (elite dangerous) question.

Hi, I have a question about the preview program that I can't find the answer to anywhere (or at least not in plain simple terms) I really want elite dangerous, and in the preview program it's £25, but is this paying for a beta test version, and that's it,
and then having to still have to buy the full game at the end, or am I getting the beta test, and the full game on general release for the low price? I don't want to have to pay twice for the game!

Next free game?

I agree ED is awesome. If you ever wanted to lose yourself in a video game, this game is it.

But I recommend that everyone should buy it. Frontier (Developer of the game) consistently re-invests in their game. The Elite Dangerous game that is out now is nothing like what was in the Preview Program of the Game.

Where To Access Game Preview Program and BC Games?

Well, I found out that you need a new update that is releasing later today for preview program members that enables the backwards compatibility, but I want to try out Elite Dangerous on Xbox One and that was supposed to be available today.

 

Right now Elite is in "early access/beta" stage,if you buying it now,you won't have to buy it twice....

But,there is no guarantee that the game will be" finished"....So make sure you really want it even if you never get a "finished" product.

 

On the Xbox One, you get an hour to try it out.

You can continue to play at a reduced price throughout the beta and will not pay anything extra when the game officially launches.

If you decline the reduced price and decide to get the game when it launches, you'll have to pay the full price.

I hope that explained it.

That hour goes fast so watch all of the tutorials here first.

 

If it gets an official release, does all progress from preview stay or do you start again?

 

It will get reset as all betas do.

So relieved it's the full game, I've sold it to my missus that it's a bargain ha!

Thanks Bird. Game ive been really interested in but im not really interested in putting in alot of hours to have it all reset. Ill hope it gets an official release and ill buy it then.

 

I can't find anything saying all your progress will be lost when the retail game releases.

If you click the link and go to news then Gary Richards part, there's no mention of loosing progress when it fully releases.

For some reason my phone won't link directly to the news section.

 

If i can keep Progress ill jump into this as soon as ive put the witcher 3 down. could still be a while.

 

The way I've been reading things, you'll earn achievements and be able to compare stats etc. Even though it is a form of beta, you are actually buying it and not just borrowing it to test for a few days.

Whatever though, I'm still going to grab it in a while.

 

Love to hear how you get on with it. Im looking for a slow burn game like this to play from time to time.

 

Yeah this is kind of what I'm looking for, sort of a never ending game I can keep going back to. I normally do this with Minecraft, but I'm ready for a bit of variety.
