Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on two different generation devices.

Hello Community,

I'm getting a Series X in two weeks so my father has decided to buy my One S from me to try video games for the first time in his 66 years of life. He lives in my basement and we share the same internet connection.

My question is, if I sign up for Game Pass Ultimate, can my father use it as well, on his own device, a generation behind, in the same household? And if yes, how would he go about doing so?

Hi Linus!

The Xbox Live Gold and PC Game Pass subscription are two different subscriptions. Those subscriptions only get converted if you had the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or when you purchase Xbox Game Pass Ultimate while having those in your account. It only applies to Ultimate because it does include already the Xbox Live Gold, Game Pass , and EA Play.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this question, "Why Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass?", the "Or" in the question is more of a "And/or". When you upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate it will convert bot Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold
to Xbox Game Pass ultimate. The only difference is that it will convert the two subscriptions differently. For more info on the conversion ratio please visit this

When you have two different subscriptions (Gold and Game Pass) and redeem an Ultimate Subscription, the two before will mix and convert depending on a conversion table.

You can use Game Pass on two devices; there's no need to purchase a second Game Pass. The only thing to keep in mind is that you can't play the same title simultaneously on both devices.
