Xbox game pass ultimate conversion

So i bought a 12 month xbox gift card for my son, he then put it into his xbox not realizing 12 months would be converted into 4 months xbox game pass ultimate which is just sad forcing you to do that, now i paid for 4 months of live for game pass which
i didn't want and very upset and it cant be fixed. Would love this problem to be resolved and converted into 12 months.
