XBOX Game Pass Ultimate Code from Gamescom not working

Hello friends,

I have a problem and can not get on with it.

The following story: I was at Gamescom for a few days this year and won a Game Pass Ultimate twice at the Wheel of Fortune (12 months) at the Microsoft Booth. Yes, I had a little lucky streak . I immediately redeemed the first code, extending my existing
subscription. I could not redeem the second code because I would have passed the 36 months. So I did not redeem the code (and did not even scratch it).

A few days ago, I wanted to redeem the code and renew my subscription. When redeeming the code at redeem.microsoft.com, I get an indication that the code has already been redeemed. I was very irritated and called the German XBox support. There I was told
that the code was redeemed on 27/10/2019 in the UK. How this can work is beyond me, since I scratched the code only a few days ago. The German support told me that you could not give me a replacement code, because I had no bill :-(

I also used the Digital Code Solution Wizard:
https://support.xbox.com/en-US/billing/codes/digital-code-solution. But even there I was told that I would need an invoice to get replacement.

I got the code but directly from Microsoft (by an employee) and therefore naturally no invoice. I'm a bit helpless now. Have I had bad luck now or do you have any idea what I can do now?

Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately what you have been told is correct. You would need to have a receipt or invoice to be eligible for a replacement code.

The 14 day codes are trials and will only work with new subscribers to Game Pass, which is why there's an error. You would need a code that is not a trial code (anything 1 month or above) or purchase Game Pass (or Ultimate) directly from Xbox.

Personally, if it's too good to be true, you should stay away from them. One thing to watch out for with those is that they could be trial codes which won't work if you've already had Game Pass Ultimate.

Game Pass Ultimate will work on any Xbox One or Series S/X.

If you are already a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, then any Gold codes you redeem will be converted to Game Pass Ultimate. If you are not an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscriber, then no, the Gold codes should not convert to Game Pass Ultimate.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The bottom of the page has several common questions that you can click on and find the answer to. One of the questions is, "What happens to my Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass memberships once I upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate."
It explains that switching from Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate converts your subscription time completely to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. You will receive the converted amount of months plus the promotional amount of months up to a
total of 36 months.

However, if you redeem prepaid codes for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass while you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the system will only convert a portion of the code. So the initial change to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will convert all of your time, but
any additional codes that are added will only add a portion of the subscription time. We hope this information helps!
