    I bought the xbox game pass for $1 to try it out and I played around 20 hours of no mans sky and got pretty far ahead. I built a new pc and redownloaded the game on there, once i clicked on the save I had to load it, it made me start the game all over again. I went back to my old pc and the save file I had now makes me start from 0 but it still says there have been 20 hours played. is there any way to get my original save back? and why did this happen?

    Save files?

    looking through several of the folders I don't see many files that would indicate saves, more config files and the such.
    Could it be that with the game pass it saves files to a cloud, linked to my profile or something?

    I know Steam saves to the cloud so i shouldnt need to port anything over, does the game pass do similar?

    Update -

    I figured out the issue but don’t know how to fix it with Xbox game pass.

    The latest update corrupted my latest save file. The steam version of this game fix is here https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/s/BEdGOVmpkI

    You have to roll back your save to a previous save and your game will work. I even started a new character to test it out and no issue, game started right up.

    But I don’t want to lose my 60 hour character, and on Xbox game pass it doesn’t save the game the same way steam does.

    Anyone know how to roll back your save with a game pass save file?

    Game pass for PC save location

    Go to steam, click on properties under the game to locate the save file.

    Then move the file to the destination under the game pass.

    I should be saving it is the same cloud they use, check your save because if you came to create a new save and the xbox takes that one and updates it will erase your progress for the new one
