    Hello, I have had constant issues with the Xbox App for PC all day yesterday and now today.

    I have downloaded the app successfully and opened it up, subscribed for a month and then started downloading The Outer Worlds. It was downloading fine until it hit 100%, then it errors out with the code, 0x8007001f. I have read online that this error code
    is because of the app needing administrative rights to install the game. I AM the Administrator on the PC and the ONLY user. I read many threads online dating back to 1 year ago with people having this issue. The troubleshooting steps I took are below. (this
    was yesterday)

    1. Restarted PC

    2. Signed out of Xbox App and Microsoft Store / Restarted PC / Signed back in

    3. Ran Xbox App as Administrator

    4. Updated PC to the latest version possible. Checked for updates and ran ALL.

    5. Tried to install the game through Microsoft Store instead

    6. Reset the Xbox App and tried installing again, same issue

    7. Repaired the Xbox App, same issue

    8. Disabled AntiVirus while installing

    9. Went into Windows Settings to "Sign-in options" and scrolled down to the bottom and turned OFF "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update or restart."

    After step 9, The Outer Worlds downloaded and installed SUCCESSFULLY.

    Fast forward to today and I am now trying to open The Outer Worlds again and NOTHING HAPPENS. The app just closes after I press play and I tried to install another game to test it and I am back to the same issue where it goes to 100% and then fails
    with the error code above. I have tried all of the steps I took before and nothing seems to work anymore.

    The Xbox app is complete and utter garbage. Barely works and it is mind boggling how this issue still occurs even when it was addressed over a year ago and on those threads, no one has found a fixed and ended up buying the game on steam lmfao.

    Hi,

    Error 0x8007001f is a Windows Store error, not a Game Pass App error. There is some confusion around the Xbox App, with many users believing the app is like Steam or Origin, it isn't.

    For downloading Game PC games the Xbox App works as a kind of portal, when you choose to download games through it, they actually download via the Windows Store.

    In addition to this, games install via a protected folder called 'WindowsApps'. Not only is this folder protected, it's also encrypted. This can cause a lot of issues with some Anti-virus or other real-time security software on Windows as the these programs
    are not allowed by the OS to read these folders.

    Disabling an Antivirus program may not be enough as they still tend to run in the background (this is a feature of these applications to continue to run as preventative manner from viruses trying to disable them).

    Unfortunately no matter what I do with my antivirus, the issue still remains. I get that it is in BETA but this is not an excuse to have this issue still lingering, years time. It's actually crazy how bad this app is managed. Shame.

    I am not using a console. I am using the Xbox Beta App on PC, this should not interfere or do anything with an actual Xbox console system.

    Hello Jonathan, I have had the same problem. Make sure you have your companion settins on for xbox so you can transfer your xbox information to your pc.
