    Xbox Game Pass not allowing purchase


    I have a trial to Xbox Game Pass and I want to purchase one of the games. When I click to purchase, it says I already own the game and won't let me purchase it. I contacted support and the guy in the chat said that since I have the license to play through
    Game Pass, it won't let me purchase the game. Literally one of the features of Xbox Game Pass is that it lets you buy the game at a small discount.

    "Love an Xbox One game currently in the catalog and want to own it? Buy it and instantly save 20%, plus get an additional 10% off any Xbox One game add-on while it’s in the catalog."

    Right there. That's what it says. Why can't I purchase the game I want at the discounted price? I don't already own this game; I can only play it through Game Pass. I just want to buy the game. The agent said "well, you can cancel game pass and buy
    it then. It's your choice." It shouldn't be my choice. One of the features of Game Pass is the ability to keep the game for a discount. Why can't I just do that? If this is how it goes, then I don't think I'll be subscribing any more.

    It has been reported that the publisher is currently not allowing purchase/download of this game. If I hear more information on this, I will pass that on.

    Unfortunately, Xbox one is not allowing me to purchase the season pass as I need a parents Microsoft account to change the settings. Where do I get this from and how do I BUY IT!!!!!

    Xbox Live Gold vs. Xbox Game Pass for Console

    Xbox gold allows you to play online, gives you 4 free games a month (2 Xbox 360 and 2 Xbox One), and weekly discounts on games.

    Game Pass allows you access to games from the game pass library without having to buy them all individually. You also get a discount if you decide to purchase the games.

    The subscriptions are different, but you can also purchase Game Pass Ultimate which includes both plus Game Pass for PC and would be cheaper.

    Do you own the game SOTTR or did you already download it with game pass?

    If you have game pass and it expires you lose access to the content you downloaded via game pass.

    Purchasing the season pass will not allow you to also download the game it is for; it is a separate purchase.

    Unfortunately Game Pass does not allow you to stream purchased games. Game Pass requires a subscription to Game Pass ultimate to play any games available on the service.

    In short, in order to stream a game you need:

    • An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription
    • The game you want to play to be available on the service.

    Do I need Season Pass or an EA Access or Game Pass to play games?

    If you purchase a game it is yours to play regardless of whether or not you have a pass with some exceptions:

    1. If you would like to play online multiplayer games you'll need to purchase an Xbox Live Gold membership

    2. An EA Access pass (monthly charge) will allow you to play any game that is in the EA Access Vault without needing to purchase the game

    3. Xbox Game Pass (starting June 1) will allow you to play any game in the XGP list without needing to purchase the game

    4. A gold membership on your account allows you to download 4 free games per month. 2 for the 360 and 2 for the One. The available games are announced prior to the beginning of the month. The 360 games are yours to keep regardless of your membership
    status but the Xbox One games require you to have a Gold membership to play them.

    as far as I know there is no information on that at this moment, but when a game is removed from Xbox Game Pass it will be announced 1 month before it will happen, which will allow you to purchase the game with the Game Pass discount in that last month if
    you want to keep playing the game.
