I have never purchased game pass but was still able to get the game through that and could still play it without game pass. Can a game pass bought on one account on the xbox be shared with another account on the same xbox?

It's being added to Game Pass for PC today so you will be able to play it for free with Game Pass. You would still need to purchase it if you want to continue playing without Game Pass.

Since they haven't purchased Ultimate on their account, it won't show that they have a subscription for it. They will still be able to play online with the Gold from your subscription and play any games you download from Game Pass.

I the game is not still available on Game Pass you won't be able to play it. Once it is removed from Game Pass you will have to purchase it if you want to continue to play it.

Standard Game Pass and Gold are actually the same price, but standard Game Pass does not give the ability to play online. So if your account shows you have a Game Pass subscription and not Gold (or Game Pass Ultimate), you'd need to purchase Gold or Game Pass Ultimate. You should be able to cancel the Game Pass subscription on the billing site if it's not what you want.
