Xbox Game Pass Installing and Inaccessible folder.

Hey! 2 questions that I feel may correlate in one way or another.

Last night, I was downloading Dishonoured 2 off of the PC Xbox Game Pass client. I must have turned my computer off last night, forgetting it was downloading things. Turned it on this morning to resume downloading and I believe I pressed the cancel button.
When I try to download the game through the Xbox application, it does nothing. Trying to quick launch the game crashes the client. To fix this I want to try to delete the files for the game and then redownload the whole thing. Any way to fix this?

I believe that the games have downloaded into a folder called "WindowsApps" in my (D:\) drive. I lack permission to enter the folder and the size is apparently 0 bytes. If I use an application called "Search Everything," then search a game, I'm able to find
games like My Friend Pedro, Outer Worlds, etc. etc. in a folder inside of WindowsApps, with their splash screens, logos, .exe etc. Dishonoured 2 remains unreachable using this method though.

Is there a way to grant me permission to access this folder? My account is the only account on my computer and is admin.

TL;DR, I have a folder I don't have permission to access. Dishonoured 2 won't install after cancelling it.

I assume the "change link" button is behind the "You must have read permissions... ..."

I've gone Security Tab > Advanced > Continue (for read permissions) > Double click my PC name

I try to give myself read permissions again, I double-clicked on my device's name and it says "This access control entry is corrupt. Delete it and create a new one."

What am I deleting... And what are the repercussions of doing so? Will I lose my files?

Access to the WindowsApps folder is a general Windows thing, not because of a Game Pass subscription. All Windows 10 apps and games install to this folder, Game Pass and Windows Store. You can still gain access to the folder.

So I realized they have their package installed, and the folder you access if you change permissions is kind of a "virtualized" folder in the sense it's not a real folder and you're looking inside the install package through an "emulated" folder.

You can see two instances of identical disk space, but only one is real, because the folder is kind of "virtualized" and is more a representation of what's in the package files. Only the package file counts as used disk space.

They should install the games like normal games.

Modding on XBox Game Pass is more or less killed by this, which is a bad idea.

It's also a pain in the butt when it comes to troubleshooting and customization.

They really need to change how they handle installations w/ XBox Game Pass PC and allow PC users the flexibility we play on PC for. Doing it like PC Games are windows apps is just silly. And bad for XBox Game Pass's viability overall.

Usually Game Pass games should be installed on the WindowsApp folder on your drive. I'm not sure if it lets you install the games on other folders.

You can change the drive, but changing folders may give you some issues. And never copy/paste games to another folder or drive. You need to uninstall them and install on the other drive.
