Xbox Game Pass for PC - Halo Series will not download or install

    Xbox Game Pass for PC - Halo Series will not download or install


    I've had a few issues with games here and there on the Xbox (Beta) app and the Windows Store.

    The latest appears to be with the Halo Master Chief collection.

    I've tried to download Halo 3 via Game Pass several times, but on every attempt it will start at

    Preparing 0%,

    then as it tries to download the Master Chief Collection and Halo 3 this will change to.

    Error 0% .

    The error code that comes up is 0x00000001 with the advice of Waiting a while and/or restarting the computer (i.e. "Turn it off and on again").

    Which hasn't worked yet.

    This does not happen with other games on Game Pass- Streets of Rage 4 downloaded and installed fine from the app, Sunset Overdrive, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Sea of Thieves appear to process the download & installation fine. It appears to be exclusively
    the Master Chief Collection which refuse to downloads.

    Any suggestions? I'm guessing it's something specific to the Master Chief Collection Installer...

    One thing I've noticed from attempts using the Microsoft Store is that the applications that can download recognise my accounts devices. The Master Chief Collection does not recognise any of the devices connected to my account which might explain why it's
    unable to download.

    It does recognise my devices for the games that can be successfully downloaded and installed.

    Hello FlightENteF,

    You mentioned you purchased Game Pass Ultimate and wanted to install STEEP but cannot find it in the Xbox App. According to the game information page, STEEP cannot be downloaded to a PC as it is only compatible with the Xbox One and Series X/S. If you have an Xbox One or Series X/S you may download the game and play it on the console.

    Still No Definitive Edition Code

    halo wars 2 ultimate edition includes Halo wars DE. You should be able to find and download the game under ready to install on my games and apps on your xbox one!

    On PC check the Halo app or the Download and install page on the store!

    Error code: 0x803f8001 when trying to download Halo wars definitve edition from the WIndows 10 Xbox(beta) App.

    Same issue with Halo Wars while trying to download for PC with xbox game pass PC. So far everything else I have tried works fine.
    Run into this problem with Hello Neighbor, same error. All other games were installed successfully and worked just fine.

    The 'new' Master Chief Collection? The collection came out November 2014. If you're referring to the Xbox One game, then as StuartATrueRed has already said.

    If you're referring to the PC version, then no, it's a download only. The PC version is also being released in stages, with Halo Reach as the first in the collection (although not the first game in the series) coming to the Windows Store, PC Game Pass and
    Steam on 3rd December.
