    Xbox Game Pass (BETA) Installer will not install, freezes and hangs


    Using Windows 10 (1909)

    When I run the installer it sticks on "making things awesome." The progress bar doesn't move at all. I can usually move the window around so the application is "alive". Occasionally I need to force-quit
    it from the Task Manager App.

    Attempting to install Gaming Services also fails.

    I have

    • Checked for Windows updates
    • Soft Reboot
    • Log off / Log On
    • Full power-off restart
    • Launch Powershell as administrator remove gaming services
      • Launch powershell as an administrator and enter “get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers”
      • In the same powershell window, enter “start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN”
    • Run Game Pass (BETA) installer as administrator and regular/power user
    • downloaded new copies of the installer several times
    I still can't get Game Pass or Gaming Services to install.

    Is there a verbose debug mode or some command-line arguments that I can use to troubleshoot and debug to understand what's causing it to hang?

    Please help. I do not want to reformat and do a clean Windows 10 install

    I'm having the same exact issue. Its not only happening on my desktop but on my gaming laptop as well! There's clearly something wrong with the installer from Microsoft and not my systems. Where are you located by the way?

    You guys are lucky..at least you got something for your money....all i get is "not available at this time" I guess Microsoft software guys are getting it in the neck right now.........

    i have the same issue, i have tried lots of things youve tried, plus others including resetting microsoft store, still cant get it to install, bit of a joke paying for a service i cant use!

    I got it to install doing a full windows update from the microsoft site not just from inside my computer. took ages but it did install

    Windows ver 2004

    OS build 19041.450
