    Xbox game installation from disc stopping at the same point


    Hi All,

    I have an Xbox One, and have Forza Horizon 3. Originally, I had installed it but then uninstalled it later. Now, when I try to install it, it continuously stops installing from the disc at 1.8GB, with the message "Installation Stopped". Attempting to continue
    the installation would make no progress. I have tried all of the troubleshooting information on the Xbox forums and various other websites.

    Any hints or support is greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE: As of now, the install stops at 1.25GB.

    Can't Download Game From Disc

    My issue is that I am currently trying to download Forza Horizon 2 on disc, but the installation keeps stopping even though my connection, storage, and disc are all fine. I've restarted the Xbox, the installation, and just about everything else. I honestly
    have no clue at this point as to what the problem could be. The installation keeps stopping at %26, but since it says the game is ready to start, and in game, it says the installation is at %74 and wont move at all.

    Hi Pam,

    I tried what you suggested and attempted the install with the external drive unplugged and the Xbox offline but it still didn't work. It got to the same point and then stopped installing from the disc. I'm not sure what else I can do to make it work.

    I email xbox support and they suggested that the game disc might be the problem. It's not because it was a hired game. I returned the game and hired the same game from another store and had exactly the same problem at exactly the same point. Installing the
    game didn't help. With both discs the install process reached 45% before through the unreadable disc error.

    I had this same issues with forza horrizon and found a tiny scratch on the disc which stopped it from installing, got the game disc exchanged for a new one and hey presto installed straight away

    Hi Carissa, I’m Ryan.

    Does the download stop at the same point every time, and does the error only occur with FC 24? Have you tried installing the game offline? Refer to:

    Also, cancel the download and perform a hard reset by disconnecting the power cable for at least 10 seconds to completely reset the power supply, then try installing the game again.
