Xbox Game DVR Questions

Is anyone else having problems with the Game DVR not doing anything when you click "record last * minutes" or even trying to start a recording?

My DVR suddenly will not record to my 2TB external, but I narrowed it down to being a external issue. I can record to internal fine I guess cause I tested it and recorded a 15 second clip. But setting it back to external, nothing happens when I try to record or record last so and so minutes. I went to storage and it lists the drive and says it's set for capture. Clicking that shows the gamedvr folder but claims it's empty. There shouldn't be an issue with the drive, I bought it a few months ago brand new from best buy and it's a Seagate. I did a reboot and full reboot as well as unplug completely and nothing fixed it yet.

I also noticed that Microsoft disables GameDVR when your internet connection isn't connected which I thought was stupid since it kept people from recording until they have internet again,but that is another topic for another day. GameDVR is also extremely buggy and it doesn't appear they have any interest on recording or fixing it.

Hey there GreenDragon080.

It sounds like your son's Xbox One hasn't received the update if they see the option to press Y or X for Game DVR. With the new update, press the Xbox button once and then press the menu button to bring up the Game DVR app. All Game DVR abilities are now done
through there. Let us know if you have any other questions with that.

Hello everyone

I love the " Play your own music from your HDD anytime that you want to from the Xbox 360 " and I have a question that is directed towards those that love the Game DVR on the Xbox One.

How would you feel if the Game DVR was completely removed in the next Xbox console? Once you've answered this question, that is exactly how I feel (sad because it is gone).

Just for the record, I applaud Microsoft for implementing this new feature (Game DVR) into the Xbox One, but I don't care about it at all.

Actually those requirements you mentioned are for the games, for Clips it's USB 3.0 and no minimum space requirements but has to be NTFS that's why It usually has to be a Flash drive as something bigger than that the Xbox will be for Games use, but the steps suggested remains the same, plug it out a PC format to NTFS and try again from the console

Well first let me start out by saying I've been using this drive fine for game clips since I got it. I formatted it for game clips, not for games or apps. It has been working as expected minus the times the software experienced issues. It's a hard drive not flash and nowhere in the requirements on the site did I see anything about needing to be flash. In fact the only real requirements I read were that it had to be usb 3.0+ and 125gb and up. Which it meets all requirements and again I have been using it up until it stopped recording yesterday.
