Xbox Game Downloading Without Buying

Hello, I turned my Xbox One on today and Ryse: Son of Rome was installing... I haven't bought this game! Can anyone tell me why this happened? Yes it is a second hand Xbox One but I got it a year ago...

Oh how gaming isn't what is used to be.

The only thing I miss is when buying a new game and being able to just insert the disc and play it straight away without any installing, updating and downloading any bonus DLC.

Buying a new 360 Slim

What it comes down to is how much you plan on using your 360 and downloading DLC Content, Movies/TV Shows, etc.

If you plan on playing alot of games and downloading the DLC I'd recommend 250GB model. If you only play games here and there without buying much DLC I'd go with 4GB to save money.

Hi bloodbath,

first i would suggest checking
your account to see if anything is listed in transactions.

Then whether there is something listed or nothing is there I would suggest contacting support directly so they can advise you further :

My guess is that whoever owned it previously had set it as their home xbox, and didn't properly remove all their data before getting rid of it.

When you set a console as your home xbox, any games you purchase automatically download to it. So, even if the previous owner has a new console, anything he/she buys will download to your console.

You could try going into Settings, then My Xbox and then selecting My Home Xbox to see if setting it as yours stops their stuff from downloading but as far as I know, the only way to stop it is for them to set another as their home xbox.

No I'm afraid not but if you buy Xbox games from the games market you can play without the disc as its downloadable content

In order to buy a game on Xbox and be able to download it on PC also without having to pay again, the game has to support Play Anywhere and Cold War doesn't.
