Xbox Game Companion App with PS4 Controller.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. I believe there is no solution for this issue as there is no native ps4 controller support for the Xbox app or any other games that are launched from the Microsoft store. Normally you could play them with no problems in steam, as steam allows you to play with any generic controller, which includes the PS4 controller.

Having said that, I found a video that teaches a method on how to use the ps4 controller on Forza Horizon 5, but I can't guarantee you that it will work. The video below also features files that you need to download, so be careful, if you want to do the procedure below, be aware that it is not an official solution, so Microsoft cannot be held responsible for any problems that may occur.

Yes, in the video it is recommended to use DS4 for windows, however, we cannot suggest that customers download third-party applications as it is not completely safe.

Mateus basically windows uses direct x drivers so when you install anything you need compliant hardware but because sony uses its own libraries and paid steam to support their pc games and yes steam is the distributor for ps pc games

It supports ps4 and ps5 controllers with their own native drivers.

Seeing as sony doesn't make windows xinput games (just.steam with steam drivers I forget what it is called ) the ps4 or ps5 controller.run on generic gamepad drivers so you wouldn't have full functions of your controller

Normally gamepass like Logitech etc uses the xinput and sometimes even install their own drivers for customization and are fully functional

You would need ds4win to run steam drivers for Windows games and goto then for support keep in mind dual sense controller isn't fully supported on steam so if you use one it's in beta drivers

Thanks for the help! It works although i sometimes have to unhide and hide the controller to be able to use it, but that is something i can live with.

Saves me some money having to buy a 360 or Xbox One controller

unfortunately as ps4 and 5 controller don't use xinput they wont work these days, ps controllers work fine with most other games on pc except xbox provided content, ds4 sometimes works with windows store and xbox app games, in regards to using it over the xbox companion app, then your now out of luck and microsoft are a bit petty.
