Xbox game clips not uploading but still taking up network space

After recording a game clip today I noticed that it didn't upload automatically. I then went to upload it my self and watched as the bar filled and and my xbox told me it was uploaded. But this was not the case as the clip was not uploaded and after trying again I was told my storage was full. So after deleting a few old clips I tried again and the same thing happened, but only after trying to upload 2-3 more times and it not working it once again told me my storage was full so I deleted more old clips off the network and the same thing has happened again. this clip is taking up my network storage despite never actually uploading and I can't delete it to get the storage back because it's not actually showing up as uploaded. How do I fix this?

    :)

We have received some similar occurrences in our community.

Unfortunately we still don't have any official position from Microsoft, the ideal in these cases would be contact Xbox support, they may have some more up-to-date information.

Hello George, I've only tried restarting my console. How would I go about about doing a reset? I certainly wouldn't want to lose any of my important data or profile. But if it could help I would be interested in attempting to do so. Thank you for replying

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is Georges C. Welcome to the community.

Hello SORARISU, we have received some similar occurrences in our community.

Have you tried any kind of procedure on your console like a reset keeping games and apps?

    Clips and Pictures being deleted

Clips take up a lot more of your internal drive space than screenshots.

There is only a finite space on the console internal drive to store captures.

To my understanding, if you make a lot of game clips and screenshots that space is quickly depleted and any subsequent captures will overwrite the oldest file on the drive if its full.

The capture space is a reserved area in the system area and not the entire drive space.

If you upload your captures to the Xbox Network and/or OneDrive you can safely delete the captures on the internal drive using Manage captures on xbox console.

The alternative is to connect a external drive, formatted to NTFS, and change your capture location to the external drive. Be aware that this option doesn't allow sharing on the Xbox Network.

    Microsoft Xbox Live Cloud Inquiry

OneDrive is just an additional cloud storage space to post your clips. For instance if you have a great clip you want to save forever (or an extended period of time), you can throw that in OneDrive and then delete it off your console and the Xbox network. Kind of as a shared clip collection space.

There currently is a limit to the number of clips you can have uploaded to the Xbox network. However, there isn't a way to see where you are on that limit without getting the above mentioned message since every clip can be of different length and quality.

I do value the feedback from the reply and will take the recommendations going forward!
