    Xbox Game Captures cannot be seen on the IOS Xbox app or the Windows Xbox app


    I cannot see my game captures that I used to be able to see on any of the Xbox apps. Previously, I was able to see all of my Xbox captures and clips on the xbox app for windows and iOS but they all suddenly disappeared from the apps when I recorded a new 5min clip. All of my captures are still on Xbox live but they only show up on my Xbox One S and not any other devices. Uploading to OneDrive doesn't work either. I need help because I like to download my captures.

    Have you made sure that your clips have been uploaded to the service and not saved locally?

    If you can’t see your clips, make sure they’ve been uploaded to the Xbox service and aren’t saved locally to your console.

    On your console:

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > Preferences.
    2. Select Capture & share.
    3. Under “Automatically upload,” make sure you’ve selected Captures by me or games or Captures by me. If you see Don’t upload selected, you can’t currently upload or share your game clips.
    If your captures are automatically uploaded, make sure you’re allowing others to see your captures:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Online safety & family.
    3. Select Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customize > Game content.
    4. Choose your preferred settings for sharing and viewing game clips and screenshots.
    Note Some games disable game clip recording capability by default. You won't be able to make clips of these titles.

    Thanks for replying but I tried all of the steps that you mentioned and I still can't see my captures on both of the apps. Is there anything else I can do?

    Thank you for reaching out to the Forums. Here are some suggestions to help you get to see your captures again.

    • Make sure your app is completely up to date. If you are having trouble with your mobile app, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it again.
    • Have of you changed any of your privacy settings? You can go to https://account.xbox.com/Settings and you can check your settings under Privacy and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tabs.
      • You can do this on the Xbox console as well:
        • Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Settings > Account.
        • Select Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details and customize > Communication & multiplayer.
    On your PC, if you cannot see your captures in the Game Bar captures (Win+G > Capture > Show all captures) you can check the Xbox Console Companion app, go down to Captures and if you don't see it under the On this PC tab, click the On Xbox Live tab. Your captures should still be there, and you should be able to download it.

    Given that the Xbox Console Companion app is being replaced with the newer Xbox app on Windows 10/11, we recommend that you use the newer apps to access your captures. In this case, you need to open the Xbox app on your phone (Android or iOS), and then you can access all of your captures there, and also download them to share it as you want.
