Xbox Game Bar still not working on Windows 11

    Xbox Game Bar still not working on Windows 11


    I have tried so many fixes. such as:

    Enable Xbox Game Bar via Settings

    1. Press Win + I key and launch Windows Settings
    2. Click the Gaming tab in the left pane and select Xbox Game Bar
    3. Toggle the button next to Open Xbox Game Bar to “On”
    4. Reboot the system to apply changes and then launch Xbox Game Bar
    Repair or Reset Xbox Game Bar

    1. Press Win + I key to launch Windows Settings
    2. Click Apps > Apps & features
    3. Search for “Xbox Game Bar” in the search box and hit Enter
    4. Next, click the three-dot > Advanced options
    5. Select Repair. If this does not do anything, select Reset
    Use Registry Editor

    1. Press Win + R to open the Run window
    2. Type regedit and then press Enter
    3. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR
    4. Look for the AppCatureEnabled key. If you cannot find it, right-click on the space > New > DROWD (32 bit) Value. Name it as AppCaptureEnabled > double-click and set value data to 1.
    5. Try to use Xbox Game Bar and see if issue is resolved
    Repair the ieframe.dll file

    1. In the search bar, type Command Prompt > right-click > Run as administrator
    2. Type in the following commands. Ensure that you press Enter after entering each command:
      • sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
      • sfc /verifyfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
      • assoc
      • sfc /scannow
    3. Restart your PC and see if Xbox Game Bar is working
    Use Local Group Policy Editor to Enable Xbox Game Bar

    1. Press Win + R to open the Run window
    2. Type gpedit.msc and press Enter
    3. Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Game Recording and Broadcasting
    4. You will see Enables or Disables Windows Game Recording and Broadcasting in the right pane. Double click on it and select Enabled
    5. Click Apply > Ok to save changes

      In addition, I've also checked for system updates, re-installed game bar- Still not getting it to work..
      it just does absolutely nothing when I press Win+G or even Win+Alt+R

      Please help ;-; <3

    I uninstalled Xbox game bar and reinstalled it still didn't work. I tried everything nothing else worked. I'm on windows 11 by the way.

    Thank you again for the quick reply. however, unfortunately the issue is still not resolved.
    As I've mentioned in the original post, I have checked for system updates and installed them prior to making this report.
    And I have tried the steps bellow:

    1. Reset Store cache.

    • Press Windows key + Q.
    • In the Search box, type WSReset.exe and hit Enter.
    • Install Xbox Game Bar app from Microsoft Store and check if the issue is resolved.
    But now I am getting a new error:

    This error pops up when I try to install/update the Xbox Game Bar app from the Microsoft store.

    1. Are you able to launch Xbox app and play games in your PC?

    2. Are you connected to work or company network?

    3. Are you getting an error message or error code?

    For the meantime, here are the additional troubleshooting steps that we can do.

    1. Download and install Xbox Console Companion app.

    2. Sign in your Xbox account both in Microsoft Store and Xbox app.

    3. Uninstall and reinstall Gaming services.

    • Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
    • In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
      get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    • In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
      start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
    • Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
    • Restart your device and try to install the game again.
    4. Run Xbox Game Bar as administrator.

    • search for Xbox Game Bar
    • right click and run as administrator

    Thank you for your quick responce and I apologize for the delay on my end,

    To answer the questions asked above.
    1. Are you able to launch Xbox app and play games in your PC? Yes I am

    2. Are you connected to work or company network? Not completely sure what you meant by this question, but I am connected to my own Wifi network at home.

    3. Are you getting an error message or error code? Not when I try to launch the app, but it has come to my attention when I launch the Xbox app it displays this message.

    It says "Installing Xbox Game Bar failed with error: 0x80073cf6" Hope this helps.

    In addition, I've tried the other troubleshooting methods like:
    1. Download and install Xbox Console Companion app.

    3. Uninstall and reinstall Gaming services.

      Keep in mind I am not able to run Xbox Game Bar as an administrator for some reason..

      Unfortunately, nothing have worked so far, and I'm still getting nothing when I try to launch the app.
