Xbox Game Bar Plugin and Xbox Console Companion updates DAILY from MS Store

Dear all,

On Windows 10 latest build and fully updated, following apps appear DAILY in MS Store "Updates"

Xbox Game Bar Plugin

Xbox Console Companion

but it seems to me for no apparent reason.

Both apps seem to work fine, just why on earth do these need daily updates?

Anyone came across the same issue an has a resolution?

Hi again,

So i uninstalled and reinstalled the apps.

Will monitor and adv over the next days.

They are doing a lot of work on those applications. The Xbox Console Companion app has changed greatly, as it used to be just the Xbox app itself, so they are working on a lot of stuff behind the scenes in prep for things to come that are in line with xCloud,
streaming, and other new features they've added with Game Pass for PC and Console and improving those systems.

They don't make a lot of public facing changes yet, but they will be of benefit as they release new features and updates as we roll on to xCloud and Scarlett release.

They updates aren't huge and as other said you can turn on auto updates and it should take care of it. Are the updates causing an issue, or are you just curious for why there are so many updates?

It may be that there are behind the scene fixes/updates. Perhaps nothing broken for how you use the app, but it might be fixing bugs elsewhere in the system.

you can turn off auto-app updates in the Windows store if you prefer not to download the updates all the time and choose when you want them.

No issues with apps -

I understand the updates - but i doubt that they update DAILY..

and what made me focus on these apps, is the fact that they daily are found to be updated, then they update, but then the date in the listing of the updates does NOT change....

i.e. if lets say the last update was really on JUL27 and today we are AUG7, i find these apps in the "download and update" section.

So, they are downloaded and installed, and move as usual to the recently updated secion. BUT there update date remains JUL27; while others properly are tagged "updated just moments ago" ...

This is what brought me to bring this issue up. So weird...

Have you tried reseting or repairing the apps. Type in Apps and Features in search then click on the apps then click advanced options. In this menu you can reset and repair the apps.
