Xbox Game bar (PC) push to talk not working in background

When the overlay is open by using Win+G the push to talk works fine but as soon as I navigate to any other window and the gamebar is forced into the background the push to talk stops working. I can still hear the conversation but cannot reply. To make matters
more confusing on occasion when joining the chat the push to talk is completely disabled and the mic stays open.

I've tried resetting the settings in game bar, reinstalling the program, repairing, restarting the company, checking permissions settings as well as even checking hardware issues like the mic mouse/keyboard. This issue is only persisting in the gamebar application
and not on any other similar voice chatting programs.

i think its a big bug everyone is still having i think the best thing you could do would be switching to console companion for now until they push an update that fixes that.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue with PTT on the Xbox Game Bar while in an Xbox Live party. I know it can be frustrating to have to open the overlay anytime you want to talk with friends using PTT. When did this issue start occurring?
Did PTT on the Xbox Game Bar work as intended before a recent update to the Game Bar?

There may not be a solution if this feature has encountered a bug and the only way to fix it would be to report the issue to the program developers to look into the issue and introduce a fix in a patch. The best way to report this issue to the developers
is to use the
Feedback Hub app on Windows 10. Just search for the app in the search bar or install it from the Microsoft Store.

Any issues with the Xbox Game Bar or any gaming issues with the Xbox platform on Windows 10 should go through the Feedback Hub app if a know solution or workaround cannot be found.

I discovered this exact same issue last night, between State of Decay 2 and the Xbox Game Bar.

My workaround was to PTT transmit with the game-bar open, then close the bar overlay to return to gameplay - the problem this created was that I was always transmitting, which does not help in your scenario.

It's astonishing how this hasn't been fixed ever since the game bar came out. Please Microsoft, do something. It's infuriating to stop playing the game and open game bar just to tell my friends important information of location of enemy, or such.

Even then, it crashes pretty frequently when I have to open game bar to talk to friends.
