[xbox game bar] Old deleted files still populated in the "shortcut" list

Greetings !!

It is four days now I'm trying to locate where the application stores the shortcuts to the deleted old clips recorded using the game bar.

The application works but I think it is the first time I see such a buggy behaviour from this application: each time I did move/delete from the folder

where I recorded the clips the list was populated with the content of the folder.

Now, I don't know why the application populates with non existing files... impossible to find where those datas are stored.

I wiped the user account --> used another account with same game -> same issue.

I deleted using the "delete button" --> same issue

I uninstalled/reinstalled the gamebar --> same issue

Used the administrator account (the game is shared for all users) --> same issue

For me the issue is "application/system wide related" and doesn't depend on the user

My question is: how to get rid of the old deleted/moved files from the "capture list" that are populated.

I feel so sorry to have bothered you for so few :{

Solution: simply delete the Captures folder itself once the GameBar is launched it recreates the folder and the "old captures" are replaced by the "real content" of the folder...

Try disabling and re-enabling game DVR and check if the issue persists. You need to also make sure the date and time are set automatically on the computer since that could cause issues with the game bar.

2 click on windows search bar and look up Xbox game bar> right click it to open up app settings > first click on Terminate > after that click on repair button > after that check if the issues persists.

If nothing works on the above settings, go to Game bar menu, and make sure that your input and output devices are selected accordingly. After that look up Xbox game bar> right click it to open up app settings > click on reset.

a quick boot to your PC would also help refresh the system, so would also recommend going over the steps mentioned here once finished with the previously mentioned steps: How to perform a clean boot in Windows (microsoft.com)

Open Game Bar then press Settings (the Gear icon) then shortcuts then remove the A button from the shortcut list.

If that isn't the issue.

Go to Start < Xbox Game Bar < [Right click] < More < App Settings < Reset

HI Oliver,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! Before we recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the game bar. Have you cleared all keyboard shortcuts from the Game Bar app already? To access the shortcut list, open the Start Menu and open Game Bar> then settings> then "Shortcuts". If you have anything in the "Open Game Bar" box other that Windows +G go ahead and either change it to your desired shortcut or scroll to the bottom and click "Reset if you prefer the default settings.

I still think there are old files from the previous Setup. To actually uninstall the game and delete it completely, go to your Settings, System, Storage, Temporary Files, and it’s listed in Delivery Optimization Files. Then delete it there!!
