Xbox Game Bar not using my voice

So I'm using the Xbox Game Bar to record myself playing World of Warcraft with my friends.

The Xbox Game bar disables the microphone by default when recording, which I understand disables the ENTIRE MIC for recording. So even though I can record all my friends talking in Discord, it does not record me because the mic is disabled.

HOWEVER. I dont want to enable the mic because then you can hear EVERYTHING. I'm on push to talk for a reason. I do not want to enable the mic especially because my spouse sits behind me while we play and you can hear everything in the background. I tried to make a few recordings with the mic enabled and the feedback loop sounds so bad.

How do I force the game bar to record my voice THROUGH DISCORD even with the mic disabled?

This seems to be a glaring thing that is missing from this feature. I don't want my mic to be recorded constantly - only when I speak in discord.

Based on the description, you are trying recording using the game bar with your discord voice. Let us see how we can help.

Windows Xbox Game Bar can capture recording your screen, any sound output and your mic. You can turn the mic off if you do not want to record what your mic picks up. This is how the Xbox Game Bar capturing works. You can also capture recording on the other app by changing the audio to record capturing setting. To check follow the steps below:

Open Xbox Game Bar or Windows key + G
go to Settings (gear icon)
select capturing and under Audio to Record, tick All.

This is not about the forums. It's the voice chat. When I tried to join voice chat in Game Bar, it closes. When I tried to join voice chat from my Xbox App mobile, it reveals an error.

Sorry to hear it. I'm afraid the game bar cannot record your voice. I would recommend using either the Xbox Console Companion or an app such as OBS to record clips with your voice

Try opening your Xbox menu by pressing the home button on your controller, then clicking "audio". There should be a volume bar for game vs voice chat below the regular audio bar. Moving this bar to the right makes the game louder and voice chat quieter,
moving it to the left makes voice chat louder and the game quieter. Hope this helps!
