Xbox Game Bar Not Loading (PC)

Whenever I open game bar on PC, the app will launch but it won't display any information. It will just continuously "load". When this happens, it stays on my screen, but prevents me from closing it until it times out and closes on its own. I have tried troubleshooting this issue via the "Reset" and "Repair options in Windows Settings. I have also tried the fixes involving windows powershell. Powershell is only a temporary fix before this issue pops up again. I have no idea what's causing this, or how to fix it for good.

Did you try the other suggestions that I mentioned in my previous response, such as signing out and back in and making sure the Xbox Game Bar app is updated?

This is one of the solutions I had previously tried. This solves the issue temporarily, but it always returns.

Welcome to the Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

Thank you for letting us know what troubleshooting steps you have already completed. We recommend that you try signing out of the Xbox Game Bar and back in and seeing if the reauthentication helps the issue. To do this, please click the gear icon on the top ribbon and navigate to "Accounts". Once there, click "Sign out" underneath the Xbox Network section. To sign back in, please follow the same steps above but select "Sign in".

Additionally, please make sure that the Xbox Game Bar is completely updated. To do this, please open the Microsoft Store on your computer and select the "Library" icon in the bottom left. From here, please select "Get updates" and then "Update all".

You can also try uninstalling the Xbox Game Bar via PowerShell. Please note that PowerShell commands cannot be undone, and it is recommended that you perform a backup of your files in case of corruption. To uninstall the Xbox Game Bar via PowerShell, please follow the steps below:

Search for "PowerShell" using the search bar in the bottom left corner of your screen
Right-click the PowerShell app and select "Run as administrator"
When PowerShell opens, please copy and paste the command below and then press Enter:

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay* | remove-appxpackage
Once the command runs, close out of the PowerShell app
Press the "Win + G" keys to confirm that the Xbox Game Bar is uninstalled
To reinstall, open the Microsoft Store on your PC and search for "Xbox Game Bar" and install
Press the "Win + G" keys to launch the Xbox Game Bar app and sign in with your Microsoft Account

Xbox Game bar is part of the operating system

many thanks for your reply. Xbox game bar integrates many plugins and user can run xbox game bar first and then load the plugins by clicking buttons on xbox game bar. Now If I want to develop a Xbox game bar plugin, is it possibe to run the plugin with some hotkey or something else without loading xbox game bar first？Or xbox game bar runs without gui displaying on the top.

Most of these settings have been moved in the Windows Game bar. Press Win+G to load up the game bar where you will see notifications.

On my PC and Surface, I do get notifications through the game bar
