Xbox game bar mic not working?

I've tried every fix under the sun, and restarted my pc a handful of times, the only thing I haven't done is fully uninstall it, and reinstall it, but I know for a fact that my microphone is working. I've recorded audio and it worked fine. Even in the setting where it shows the little feedback bar when you talk into your mic, IT WORKS. But only when I want to talk in a party it doesn't work. Why is this happening? I'm losing my sanity.
