Xbox game bar for windows - i cant unmute my mic while recording.

Im trying to record something using game bar for windows and when i start recording it mutes my mic and im unable to unmute it. When i click the unmute button or press the shortcut nothing happens. I have made sure that game bar has permission to use my mic, i have made sure the correct audio devices are selected in the game bar settings and in the party chat settings, push to to talk is also disabled and have made sure my mic format is 1 channel 16 bit 48000 hz(DVD quality). Any help would be appreciated.
