    Xbox Game Bar does not let me record even though I have compatible hardware.


    I have a Windows 11 Pro system with a Radeon RX 6500 XT GPU which can decode H.264 and 265 with an Intel i5-13600KF CPU and 32gb of RAM but when I try to record with Xbox Game Bar it says that my PC does not meet the minimum system requirements for clips. My drivers are all up to date, I tried modifying the registry which didn't work, and using DVR config which also did not work. How do I fix this? I am sure my system is meeting the minimum requirements.

    you need to see replies and see that the card is not compatible and therefore you are wasting your time trying to fix an issue that does not exist.

    as i have already stated, that card does not have hardware encoders therefore recoding via gamebar is not possible.

    The RX 6500XT is on the rather the low end of AMD's NAVI24 RX 6xxxx range. The lowest being the RX 6300 and the high end being the RX 6950XT. As it such, while it can decode H.264 and H.265, it can't encode (i.e. Record) like it's more powerful brethren.

    As Tezzarrific has already pointed out, it doesn't have any built in video encoders, so it won't work via the Game Bar.

    In Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control I added a new DWORD with the name PortableOperatingSystem and set it's value to 0.
